There is no need to spend lots of money on your sales letter. Here are some money saving tips

18. A simple A4 advertisement reprinted on a sheet of paper with a note attached saying, “This worked for me. Regards M” has out-pulled a mail-pack costing three times more.

19. Do not over design a letter. The more ordinary the letter looks the better the response.

20. One-piece, or self-mailer sales letters as they are known, are always beaten by a good conventional mailing piece: ie a sales letter, leaflet and response card or envelope.

21. The famous ‘lift’ or extra sales letter from the publisher really does lift the response of most mail-shots.

22. Sales letters printed in a common typewriter face (eg Courier) get a better response than printer typeset letters.

23. If the words ‘you’ and ‘yours’ are mentioned twice or less on page one of a sales letter, response will improve considerably if you increase the frequency of these words to seven or more.
